- Hello out there !! I'm Sami and i'm writing this blog about the journey i'm taking in having lap band surgery. I am 24 years old and am ashamed to say my starting weight was 123.8 kg. I was banded on the 13/02/08. I update regularly and keep the comments coming ! Sami Xx I have now had my band removed and am embarking on having a gastric sleeve. Band was removed 10/03/2010, sleeve happening approx June 2010. Bring it !!!
